What a beautiful life changing story for Henty the older shelter dog. So happy that he found love and was able to enjoy his golden year with a family that loved him. ❤ Second chances to make a difference in not animal lives but also human lives!!!
The story of a 16-year-old dog and co-founder of Marleys Mutts and the Pawsitive Change initiative, Zack Schou, is a very touching one.
The story begins when Zack during a visit to a dog shelter in Tehachapi came across an old dog named Henry.
Henry was 16 years old, quite old for the common ground of the breed. He is still living in a shelter with extremely difficult conditions, his coat has changed color, he moves and eats more slowly than other dogs. It’s the reason why nobody adopts Henry.
When he saw this situation, Zack was very emotional. He did not want to see the [po.or] dog have to end his life this way, so Zack expressed his desire to be Henry’s adoptive father, take care of him and find a good family for Henry.
In March 2021, Zack took Henry out of the shelter and immediately took him to the doctor. The situation is not good, Henry is old and weak and has [te.sticular ca.ncer]. Su.rg.ery was performed shortly after that. But surprisingly, Henry was extremely tenacious in [fig.hting] the [dis.ease].

Despite his weakness, he managed to walk around in the garden and help people. Zack was very surprised at Henry’s efforts, Henry looked like he was getting stronger day by day.
However, Zack still decided to find a new owner for Henry, even though he was very pleased with the dog’s recovery. A new family will be where Henry will be loved and cared for. Zack wants this [po.or] little dog to have the best time of his life.
What a wonderful loving gesture by this man.
Zack’s story was shared quickly, a kind woman who heard the news contacted Zack and took care of Henry. Henry gets along very quickly with his new mother, he always looks lively and cheerful. The new mother loves Henry very much and often shares lovely photos taken with Henry for everyone.
God has a place in heaven for this man.😇
