NYPD Officer Stops Rush Hour Traffic To Save Cat’s Life

A New York City cat found himself in the worst place possible: on Grand Central Parkway during rush hour traffic. But luckilyy for the terrified tabby, an animal-loving NYPD Highway Unit officer stepped in to save this feline’s life!

In this video, you’ll see the cop stepping into heavy traffic and stopping a silver mini van for no apparent reason–until the car slowly eases forward to reveal the poor kitty lying frozen on the ground. But when the officer picks up the cat, he springs to life, clinging to his rescuer’s shoulders.

The tabby certainly seems grateful, and for good reason – the officer risked his own life by stepping into traffic to save him, but as proudly captioned on the video posted on the NYPD Facebook page, #ItsWhatWeDo.

The post also states that “Cat and cop are now new friends and doing well!” Let’s hope the daring kitty made his way safely home!
