The ABC News crew covering a story on the recent Texas tornado damage ended up rescuing a dog after they heard his crie.
Two members of the ABC News Crewโs security detail heard the cries coming from underneath one of the homes damaged by an EF1 tornado that killed one person and injured at least 11 others in the Rio Grande Valley region.
The crew called animal control, but instead of just waiting around, ABC sound technician Jim Gower got a shovel and started digging and soon a furry head popped out of the hole.
The poor dog was so scared but patiently waited as rescuers dug him out from under the homeโs foundation.
Thankfully, the dog did not appear injured and crawled out of the hole with some help from Gower and others. Hereโs hoping the dog was reunited quickly with his family.
