He was so t.e.r.r.i.f.i.e.d that he couldnโt even stand up. All he would do is lie down and urinate on himself.
Expert animal behaviorists said Otto would be unable to live with humans and suggested a sanctuary, but staff did not give up on him.
They treated him, took great care of him and gave him lots of love. They wanted him to know that they were there to help him, not hurt him. And he soon realized this.
Once his fear dissipated, his personality began to come out and he broke out of his shell.
After a few months, they saw this terrified dog who refused to move, turn into this friendly and outgoing pup.
He was also adopted, despite โexpertsโ saying he was unadoptable, and he even has a new doggy sibling.
They get to go on walks together and now Otto will be loved for the rest of his days.
