Hope For Paws received a call from a woman named Nicole who’d been feeding a homeless cat for months. The cat was found taking refuge at a stranger’s house, and when rescuers arrived, they realized the poor thing had no ears or teeth.
The poor thing was given food and some reassuring pats on the back. JoAnn and Katie placed the kitty in a crate and began the trip to the hospital to get him checked out. And it turned out Ares had a microchip.
The cat had gone through a TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) program and registered as a community cat to keep track of him. But he was FIV positive with a compromised immune system and really belonged with a family and not living outdoors.
Ares is currently being fostered by JoAnn Wiltz and looking for a forever home as an only pet. 🙂
