Mama Dog Abandoned In Desert Is Rescued Along with Her Six Puppies
Hope For Paws, an animal rescue organization in California, received a distress call on their emergency line about a mother dog and her six puppies. It was a pregnant dog, abandoned in the desert, and gave birth to 6 puppies.
Fortunately, she found refuge at a plant nursery and met a kind owner. She was provided with food and water and taken to a rescued center. After receiving a call from a man telling her about her condition, Hope For Paws founder Eldad drove to the desert to save the dogs.
Upon arrival, Eldad decided to name the mother dog Moon. When he met him, Moon wagged his tail and ran towards Eldad looking very happy. Perhaps she knew that this man would sᴀᴠᴇ her children. “When Moon heard my voice, she ran towards me as if she was expecting my arrival, laid on the ground, and rolled over… it was such a sweet moment,” recalls Eldad. Eldad seems to fall in love with Moon’s trust and love for him.
After making sure the puppies were taken care of and treating Moon with a burger, all of the dogs were loaded onto the van to return to Los Angeles. Moon and all six of her puppies – Andromeda, Nebula, Supernova, Comet, Lynx and Crypto – were examined by a vet and then put in the kennel together for a good night’s sleep.
Moon, identified as about three years old, had an eye infection with both eyes due to a condition called entropion . The disease caused her eyelids to roll inwards and irritate the cornea. The doctor decided that after her puppies were weaned, she would need surgery on both eyes to fix the condition. As for the puppies, their health is very good.
The next morning, all dogs were given a warm foam bath before arriving at LA Animal Rescue. They are currently being cared for well until they are ready to be adopted into permanent homes. Thanks to the rescuers who helped these dogs.
