It may seem crazy, but many cities around the world still don’t allow pets on public transport.New York City made headlines when they changed their rules to limit access to dogs that could “fit in bags“, which prompted pet owners to get creative. Auckland, New Zealand only just allowed pets aboard its public transit system under the condition that they be in cages or wear a muzzle.
Well, Seattle’s got it right if you ask me.Eclipse, the most adorable dog on the planet, is so sweet and so smart that she has learned how to take the bus… entirely on her own! She’s learned how to take herself to the park by catching the bus even when her owner isn’t around to bring her.
“Every day she leaves her house by herself and takes the bus downtown to the dog park where she spends a couple of hours getting exercise and making friends, and then she takes the bus back home again,” – Seattle citizen
What a good girl!
I’m barely responsible enough to remember which bus stop to get off at… I don’t know how she does it!
She’s a strong independent woman who don’t need no man (or woman, for that matter).

Her owner, Jeff Young, wasn’t moving fast enough for Eclipses’ liking when the bus got to their stop. So she took matters into her own hands and got on all by herself, leaving Jeff behind.
The driver was used to seeing Eclipse on her route that she knew where she was going, and dropped her off. Jeff caught the next bus and found her exactly where he knew she’d be: at the dog park.
Knowing his dog was a smart cookie, he tried letting her ride on her own a few more times as an experiment. She would always return home again on her own when she was ready, so Jeff talked to the bus company about letting her ride as a regular thing.
Even the Seattle police have given the go ahead under the condition that the bus company is okay with the arrangement. Of course, all the bus drivers love seeing Eclipse on their route, how could it not bring joy to their day?!
See, patience isn’t always a virtue. Being impatient gets you places!
And she’s not just smart, she’s friendly too. She’s always making new friends on her bus journey and of course, at the park as well. She’s bringing joy to people all over Seattle!
I think I would literally cry if I saw a dog get on the bus by herself, so I get it.
Okay but get this, it gets cuter. She even has her own bus pass which is attached to her collar!
Robbie Lauren is the woman who started a Facebook page about Eclipse and her independent bus rides, which now has more than 60,000 followers!
“Many of the regular passengers enjoy seeing her every day and will often sit down next to her.” – Robbie Lauren
I would literally throw someone out of my way to get to a seat next to this pup.
What an amazing dog!
