Horribly Abused Dog Deserves Every Second Of His Healing Bath

Roxy was forced to live in the yard with no food, water, or shelter. She was only discovered when the new tenants moved in.

If anyone deserves a warm, relaxing bath, it’s Rudy Hell Bull. In November last year, after he was found lying in a terribly shaped plastic bucket, he was given an alternative York City shelter. He hardly has any fur, and his skin is covered with deep wounds, most likely caused by battery acid burns and some other cigarette burns.

He also couldn’t walk due to a severely broken front leg. ToTo illustrate his already terrible condition, he suffers from untreated Cushing’s disease.

The city shelter asked the Northeast branch of the Special Needs Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Center (SNARR) for help, and their supervisor Courtney Bellew rescued him. Despite this, Courtney was hired to take care of the seriously injured animal, and seeing Rudy broke her heart. She told the Huffington Post that his front legs were in such a bad condition that she refused to take pictures.

Rudy was also traumatized emotionally. “It may be a miracle this broken boy survived,” the group wrote on Facebook. “Other than being completely terrified and unsure of a sort human hand, Rudy was grateful and zip but a love bug from the minute we rescued him.”

One thing that helped Rudy immensely was the medicated bath. The team shared a video of Rudy getting one in his special spa bath, which helped his skin and fur heal. Note: the video may take a couple of seconds to load.

Fortunately, his adoptive parents are veterinarians and may provide him with all the medical care he needs during his recovery. They have a gorgeous New England farm home where his spirit can heal and he’s surrounded by love. His days are full of friends: children, dogs, cats and barn animals like Harold the lamb.

They continue to point out that he lived an honest life until his death. In an update to the first story above, I’ve learned Rudy has since died thanks to complications with his spinal disease. SNARR and his family spoiled Rudy the maximum amount as they possibly could before he died. I’m thankful that Rudy was ready to live his final months surrounded by love.
