Hope For Paws received an urgent call about a scared stray pit bull in the 100-degree heat and headed out immediately. Upon arrival, they spotted the dog and started closing in on her. But that’s when they noticed a coyote right between them sitting by the tree.
Thankfully, the coyote was spooked by the rescuers and took off running. Now they could once again just focus on saving the pit bull. But the dog ran for many miles and entered a baseball field. In order to appear as non-threatening as possible and to prevent the dog from having a heat stroke, one rescuer lay down on the ground beside her.
A kind neighbor got the dog some water, and rescuers loaded her up into the air-conditioned car for the ride back to the hospital. The sweet pit bull continued on to her foster home with Doggie Bonez just a few days later. She was a little nervous at first but made a best friend named Miller! They are both looking for forever homes.
You can donate to Hope For Paws to help them rescue more dogs like Brandi.
