Several puppies were discovered without a mother in a jungle, and no one understood how they got there.
Friends to the Forlorn Pit Bull Rescue stepped in since Henry County Animal Care and Control has a policy of not adopting canines thought to be pit bulls.
The puppies were transferred to a shelter in Georgia and scheduled for death. Pit bulls will only be kept for three days before being euthanized by Henry County Animal Care and Control.
Animal control called Friends of the Forlorn Pit Bull Rescue and inquired if they wanted to rescue the puppies.
The rescue’s founder, Jason Flatt, did not hesitate to welcome them in.
Krissy, Nugget, and Sunshine, the three puppies, were put in foster homes right away. But one mystery remained: why does Sunshine only have one front paw?
They weren’t sure if it was a congenital deformity or the effect of maltreatment. Sunshine, on the other hand, insisted on walking on it.
They wanted to help her, so they took her to a vet to be fitted for a prosthetic paw. A flexible leg splint will have to serve for the time being.
Sunny had little problem adapting to her leg splint. They’d also build prosthesis in four distinct sizes, one for each stage of growth.
We’ll never know what happened to Sunny’s paw, but she’s happy and well in her new life!
Thank you to everyone that helped get this girl to where she needed to be.
