German Shepherd Dog Missing For More Than 4 Years Has Been Reunited With Family

There is nothing more wonderful than being reunited with your cherished dog.

The family in Baytown, Texas had been anticipating this happy reunion with their beloved German Shepherd dog Sheba for four years. Sheba was kidnapped before they met.

It’s if she never left, Sheba’s owner Stephanie Moore Malmstrom told Daily Paws. We are overjoyed and fortunate to have Sheba back.

Sheba abruptly vanished earlier in January 2018 while her family was visiting a neighbor. The moment the family got home, they realized something wasn’t right because Sheba wasn’t responding calls or napping off in the yard as usual.

The family watched security footage after searching for Sheba for hours in vain. They discovered the dog had been taken. The family reported the dog theft to the microchip company and kept looking, but eventually they gave up on the idea that beloved Sheba dog would ever come home.

In August of this year, Moore Malmstrom was astonished to discover a missed call and two texts informing him that the Sheba dog had been located.

Moore Malmstrom first believed it to be a “scam” and that they were profiting off of her devotion to her missing pet. Nevertheless, Jerry Harper, an animal control officer, informed her that he had really located her stolen dog, 600 miles away in a place called Borger, when she called the missed call.

Moore Malmstrom, who is both thrilled and sceptical, requests head-to-toe photos of Sheba as well as any other information that would assist her identify the correct Sheba.

When Harper and Moore Malmstrom FaceTimed the following day, they remembered that they had given Sheba an identification tattoo, but they were still unsure if it really Sheba. Malmstrom Moore Then he declared, “This is Sheba! You have both my baby and my dog! I’m prepared to board the automobile and leave.

Sheba was a 12-hour trip away (24 hours total!) and her family had to wait another week for a volunteer group to carry her home.

“It was the longest seven days of my life,” stated Moore Malmstrom.

Moore Malmstrom were worried that Sheba wouldn’t remember her after four years apart, but when he smelled her family when he got off the plane, Sheba recognized them right away.

Moore Malmstrom asserts that “excitement is an understatement.” Four and a half years after losing a hairy family member, we are now reunited.

Since Sheba vanished, the family has expanded to include a rescue bull named Poppy and a little child named Mason, but Sheba hasn’t missed a beat.

She still enjoys spending time with her family, playing outside, and sharing cheese snacks with Mason, her new favorite boy, even though she moves a little more slowly these days.

Sheba is magnificent – a once-in-a-lifetime dog, says Moore Malmstrom. Her return is such a blessing for us. If anyone learned anything from our tragedy, it should be to microchip your pet and never give up hope if they become lost or stolen.
