Tiny dog ran under waterway passage after being frightened by car and got stuck in the dark tunnel. She was too scared to move until a cop came to save her.
Officer Joe Brazil is usually available to assist, in fact, he didn’t even hesitate when it came to rescuing a poor dog in need.
Last May 02, 2016, Peggy Edwards shared her story on Facebook and it went viral. The story was heartfelt, and it warmed all our hearts up. Her story was all about an incredibly kind Woonsocket, Rhode Island policeman named Joe. It started when an adorable but nervous little Yorkshire terrier got scared off by a car. And the very first thing the dog did was escape to cover inside a tunnel.
“April 30th, a touch dog was running free and was frightened by a passing car. It saw a tunnel through which a nearby stream passed. She was stuck about 20-25 ft. in and was clinging to the side,” Peggy started telling her story on Facebook. Her instincts told her that she needed to save lots of the small dog but she was hesitant. She was concerned that she might scare the poor dog, and it’d go deeper into the tunnel. That’s when she thought of a thought. She immediately called the Woonsocket Police to invite help, and she or he wasn’t disappointed. After a couple of minutes, Officer Joe Brazil showed up and was quite willing to assist.

Peggy then explained what happened and without hesitation, the brave Officer was able to help.
“He went in without hesitation and came out with a really wet, scared Canis Minor. Great guy, Lucky dog. We are very happy he was ready to save the small gal,” Peggy continued. The kind Officer took off his shoes and socks and went into the tunnel to rescue the small dog.
WJAR NBC10 is ready to contact the official and agree with him: “As I got closer, I could see CeCe just clinging to the side and just shaking,” Brazil said. “(The dog was) very, very frightened.” Seeing how frightened she was, the Officer was extra careful to not scare the small dog deeper into the tunnel. What he did next was amazing! Somewhat into the tunnel, when he was close enough to the scared dog, he let her smell his hand and once CeCe was calm, that’s when he picked her up!
“It just appeared like she was almost saying many thanks. Like she knew I used to be there to assist ,” Brazil said in his interview with WJAR NBC10. As you’ll see in the photo, the sweet dog looks so loving and thankful to the handsome officer that saved her. It seems that this dog wasn’t a stray in any case. She had a loving family. Consistent with another interview with WJAR NBC10, the name of this cute dog was CeCe. Michelle Perez, Cece’s owner, was so relieved that her dog was found. Consistent with her story, her mother-in-law gave her the gorgeous puppy but sadly, subsequent day, it escaped!
“She’s only 5 months old. I wasn’t ready to sleep,” Perez said in her interview “All I kept doing was just driving around, calling her.” Thanks to Peggy Edwards and therefore, the loving Officer Joe Brazil, CeCe was saved from the scary tunnel and was reunited as well as her owner. We are all so happy that CeCe was saved and made it back home to her human! Learn more about this heartwarming story in the video below.
