Hope For Paws received a text message on the emergency line about a kitten who’d gotten stuck inside a chimney. Animal control had already been there, but they couldn’t do anything to help. So Eldad and Loreta went to check it out.
They were told the kitten had fallen down the chimney three days prior to the text, and the rescuers couldn’t see anything from on the roof. They even lowered a camera down but no luck. They needed a different approach, so they went inside the house to look at the chimney from there.
They decided that if nothing else, they’d have to destroy the wall to help this kitten. The home owners gave them permission, and that’s exactly what they had to do. After some hard work, Eldad spotted what he thought was a dead kitten. But when they pull it out of the chimney, it meows!
Somehow, after 72 hours with no food or water, the kitten was still alive. They rushed him to the animal hospital where the doctors fought for Cricket’s life all night. It turned out Cricket was a fighter, and he would be okay! 🙂
The people who called Hope For Paws came to meet little Cricket, and they ended up adopting him along with Napoleon from the highway! Cricket and Napoleon are both happy and healthy and enjoying their lives together.
