There is nothing worse than having to spend your birthday alone!
No one to share your special day with, no one to celebrate with. However, that is exactly what happened to Monique, a very special cat looking for her forever home. Feeling rejected by everyone, no-one turned up her birthday party thrown by Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
The party was thrown in an effort to find Monique her very own family as the poor cat has spent more than 115 days at Battersea. After she had passed the 100th day the staff decided to do something special and throw her a party on Valentine’s day.
Monique’s pen was decorated and she received some special toys, however, after sharing news of the special event no one came to celebrate with her.
Monique is still at the shelter, hoping someone will come and see how special she really is and take her home.
If anyone’s heart is breaking for this cat, please spread the news. Yes, Monique is FIV+s ( Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), though just like any other cat with the virus she is still capable of living a long healthy life.
All a new owner needs to do is cat-proof their house and or garden, so she can enjoy the outdoors and get some fresh air, that way not spreading the virus.
She’s a sweet girl who loves a snuggle, Battersea’s Cattery Team Leader, Chrissie Grindrod, said: ‘It’s always a shame to see one of our cats be repeatedly overlooked, especially one so young and with so much to offer as a pet.
‘Monique is a gentle soul who thrives with human company, whether that be playing with her favorite toys together or curling up side by side on the sofa. ‘She also won’t ever say no to a chin rub or two.
Her birthday and Valentine’s Day may now have passed, but it’s not too late to give Monique her dream gift of a lovely new home.’ Could you give her a home? (Picture: Battersea Dogs & Cats Home) Monique would make a lovely pal.
She sweet, playful, and loves to snuggle and snooze on people’s laps. She especially loves chin rubs and will let you know you’re doing a good job by purring away like a motor.
Monique is a wonderful cat who deserves loving owners willing to go the extra mile for her, we assure you she’s worth it.’ If you’re a lovely person who’s up for giving Monique all the love and care she deserves, you can get in touch with Battersea through their website.
